Why "HIPAA compliant" usually isn't enough
HIPAA requires you to protect patient information, and a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with any vendor that stores it. Most form builders meet that by encrypting data "at rest" on their servers. But they hold the keys, so their staff, a breach or a legal request can still expose readable patient answers.

Is SealForm HIPAA compliant?

Can SealForm staff read my patients' answers?
No. Answers are encrypted in the patient's browser with keys only your team holds. SealForm stores only ciphertext, so there's nothing readable for us, an attacker or a subpoena.
What happens if we lose our vault password?
The responses can't be recovered, by you or by us. That's the trade-off of true end-to-end encryption. Invite teammates so more than one person can unlock, and keep the password in a password manager.
